Revealed: Top 10 UK Cities with the Highest Risk of Road Accidents
UK Cities with the Highest Road Accident Risk in 2021
A new study has found that Doncaster is the UK city with the highest road accident risk. The research looked at the number of accidents, including both fatal and non-fatal, for cities across the UK in 2021. The data shows the number of accidents per 10,000 residents. This helps us see which cities have the most dangerous roads.
Zego, an expert in taxi insurance, used data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to carry out the analysis. The results show which cities have the most road accidents, and why it’s important to stay safe when driving.

Why Some Cities Have Higher Road Accident Rates
The study doesn’t give a clear answer about why certain cities have higher accident rates. However, the data shows that most cities on the list are in England. Interestingly, no Scottish cities appear in the top 10. Aberdeen stands out for its safety, with the lowest accident rate in the UK.
This suggests that Scotland might have safer roads overall. However, regardless of where you live, it’s important to stay alert while driving. Follow the rules of the road, check your vehicle regularly, and stay aware of other drivers to avoid accidents.
