Geofences – what can you do?
After having vehicle tracking fitted to your fleet it is important to use the features that will help your business. Geofences and alerts are just one of the features that could make your business more efficient.
A geofence is virtual perimeter set up around a real geographical area. It can be set up as a radius around a certain area, or can be built specifically on the boundaries of a predefined site.
The Satmo vehicle tracking system will allow you to set up geofences by drawing zones around places of work or sites visited. These geofences will trigger an alert when a vehicle arrives or leaves depending on the information that you require.
Why do you need geofences?
Geofencing is an important feature in vehicle tracking and fleet management. It allows the fleet manager or user of the system to draw a zone around a specific area. Then the tracked vehicles will trigger an alert when they enter or leave this perimeter.
Alerts can be sent by SMS or email depending on the needs of the user.

- when they arrived
- the time they left
- how long they were on site for
