Demo the site

Always take a demo if it is offered, or ask for one if it is not! You can see the layout of the system, how simple it is to use, and how much information you can get from your tracker.

Check how often the tracking system updates

A vehicle tracking solution should update at least every 30 seconds, or more often if your situation calls for it.

Check how speeding is monitored.

Does the vehicle tracking provider measure speeding on all roads, or do they just offer one set speed limit? Choose a provider who will check your drivers speeds against all roads.

Check the length of the warranty offered?

Do you get a standard 12 months manufacturers warranty or does the company believe in the products that they are selling, and therefore offer you a longer warranty?

Check how much access you have to the tracking software.

You need to ask how many secure logins you can have for your team, and do you get to access the tracking site on your smart phone or tablet as well as from your PC or laptop.

Check the reports that are available.

Are the reports standard or will the vehicle tracking provider customise reports so they work for you rather than making you fit around the reports that everyone has.

Talk to the team

Take the time to talk to the people that you will be buying from, you will be dealing with these people for the length of your contract, or longer if you decide to renew. Is the support going to be there all the time. Or in some cases once you have signed up to a long contract you are forgotten.
