How fast can you drive on the motorway?

That should say how fast are you allowed to drive on the motorway. Driving at speed can reduce your thinking time, and is a factor in a number of accidents. But how well do you know the speeding rules on the roads around you?

Here’s a little quiz for you to see how well you know some speed limits;

What is the national speed limit in a residential area?

A – 20 mph, B – 30 mph, C – 40 mph, D – 50 mph

Question 2

What does this sign mean?

A – 20 mph zone ends, B – 30 mph zone ends, C – 20 mph limit, D – End of residential zone

Question 3

Overall stopping distance will get longer:

A – In the fog, B – At night, C – In the hot sun, D – In the rain

Question 4

What is the stopping distance at 20mph

A – 5 metres, B – 12 metres, C – 19 metres, D – 23 metres

What does this sign mean?

What happens to the stopping distance if the road is wet?
